Please check back with me over the summer.
Sacagawea was the interpreter for the Lewis and Clark Expedition. She did much more than interpret. She helped the expedition find food. She smoothed things over with other tribes. She gave birth to Pompey during the expedition, and continued to work. She was 16 when she did all of this. The pattern is from my imagination. Sorry for any inaccuracies. Please check back over the summer for the finished piece.
Kindra: A better photo is coming soon!
Kindra's handmade, hand embroidered shoes.
Midori is Japanese for a beautiful shade of green. I chose it for her eyes.
Sagal is Somali for bright shining star. Her boyfriend will be Jabari. That's Swahili for brave.
Now I need to take care of my arthritic hands!
I'm finally finished! Please check out my doll section.
Jabari will be my first male doll and will have a martial arts theme. Jabari is Swahili for brave.
I made the buttons out of Fimo clay. They read from left to right: dragon, tiger, snake, brave, and endure
The patch on the left is kanji for ninjitsu. On the right is the kung fu red dragon.
This geisha is my next needlepoint project.
